Launch Date for Single women pension Scheme

The Single women pension Yojana has been implemented in the state of Telangana. The official announcement of the program was made by the Chief Minister of the state Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao. The announcement came as a boon for the poor and single women on in January 2017. The implementation of the scheme will do all over the state at the same time. The operation of the scheme will start from April 2017.

Eligibility For the Single women pension Scheme

The following are the criteria for enrolling under the Single Women Pension Yojana:

  1. Status: Only those women will be allowed to enroll in under the scheme who are single. This means that all unmarried women of the poor sections of the society will be allowed to register in this scheme.
  2. Earning Limit : According to the guidelines of the scheme, all the single women who are interested in getting registered under the system must not earn more than 2 lakh on a yearly basis. Only then, will they be able to get the pension.
  3. Domicile Certificate : Last but not the least; the women who want to get the monthly pension will have to be residents of the state. They need to have documents which will support their claim of residence.

Difference between Single women pension and Asara scheme

The objective of the Single Women Pension and the Asara Pension scheme is almost the same. Both of them are targeted towards the empowerment of the poor and financially weaker sections of the society. Under the guidelines of the Asara Pension scheme, the government will provide a monthly pension of Rs. 1000 to all the poor kallu geethakarmika or the Toddy, chenetha karmikulu or the weavers, Vrudulu or the aged and the Vithanthuvu or the widows. The pension amount was increase from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1000. The physically and mentally disabled people will get Rs. 1500 that was earlier Rs. 500.

With the implementation of the program, the state government of Telangana will be able to develop the financial situation of the poor women who have no one to take care of them. Thus, they will be empowered and will get the encouragement they need to fend for themselves in the proper manner.
