Madhya Pradesh provide pulses at low rate in tribal areas

Madhya Pradesh government has recently launched a new scheme under which the tribal community will get pulses from the state government at concessional rates. The scheme will be starting off soon on pilot basis in two particular districts among the tribal community. Other than that a few other programs have been starting off soon in the state.

Launch Details

The scheme was planned and decided in a meeting lead by the Chief Minister of the state Mr. Shivraj Chouhan. The State Cabinet Ministry and the CM Chouhan have given a nod to the scheme on Thursday, 20th December 2017.

Key Features

  • Objective: Pulses will be provided at lower rates to the beneficiaries to get rid of malnutrition in the community. It will be decided by the local bodies whether it will be whole pulses or split ones. Whichever will bring higher nutrition to them will be provided to them.
  • Rates of the pulses: The pulses under this scheme will be available at Rs. 10/- per kilogram. This is much cheaper compare to market price of any other food grains.
  • Beneficiaries: According to the reports nearly 3.50 Lac people will get benefitted from this scheme. This means almost 75,000 families will get advantage from the scheme.
  • Pilot Project: The Scheme will implement on pilot basis. There will be two specific places namely Khalwa and Karahal in Khandwa and Sheopur districts will have this scheme on pilot basis. Afterwards other places will be covered.

Other Scheme

Another scheme will soon be launched in the state on 25th December 2017. Under this scheme the people belonging to backward tribal class will get Rs. 1000/- on monthly basis. This financial grant will be useful for them to survive. Baiga, Sahariya and Bharia communities will get benefitted from this new scheme. It will be launched on birthday of Shree Atal Bihari Bajpayi, the former Prime Minister of India.

Conclusion

Madhya Pradesh government has announced about 180 development schemes in a recent event. Among them provision of pulses at concessional rate is one. All these schemes focus on the betterment of the backward category like scheduled tribe and the people living in remote rural areas.

Apart from providing monthly monetary allowances, there will be other facilities such as schools and colleges, sub-stations for electricity will be provided for the betterment of the tribal community and economically weaker group across the state. These schemes will start launching from 1st of January 2018 respectively.
