Under Swachh Bharat Mission – Cleanliness drive in Himachal Pradesh

In order to provide better implementation of the PM’s Swachh Bharat Mission in the state of Himachal Pradesh, the state chief minister MR. Jai Ram Thakur launched the special cleanliness drive. The main intention of the creating such cleanliness drive among states is to create an awful awareness among the citizens of the state to keep their surroundings neat and clean.

Launch Details

The CM of the state Mr. Ram has launched this special cleanliness drive on the New Year day of 2018. The event held at the state capital, where the chief minister quotes that his government will offers full support to the Swachh Bharat Mission started by the current Prime Minister of India.

Features and Highlights of Himachal Pradesh’s cleanliness drive Program

  • While addressing to people Mr. Thakur had assured that all the houses will get clean water supply from the government. Apart from that, the state Chief Minister has directed government officials to provide better governance on cleaning water reservoirs along with the natural water resources.
  • The CM of the Himachal Pradesh also directed the government officials of irrigation and public health department to inspect the water reservoirs on routine basis in order to check whether they are getting cleaned on priority.
  • During the launching event, the state health minister Mr. Mahender Singh announced that the cleanliness drive will be carried out for about 15 days and the cleaning activity will regularly monitor by the officials.
  • During the event, the educational minister of the state, Mr. Suresh Bhardwaj assured that there won’t be any incident will happen again by quoting the last year incident of cleaning the body of a boy in a water tank cited in Shimla.

  • After wishing the people on the New Year day, Mr. Thakur launched the special cleanliness drive in the Himachal Pradesh state in the Sanjauli town. Since, the drive mainly focused to clean the water reservoirs of the state, the campaign kick started in Sanjauli town which has the largest water tank of the state with 90 lakh liter storing capacity.
  • In past too, the state witnessed the similar kind of cleanliness drive where thousands of people took part eagerly to clean the city from the garbage’s. The drive too involves the cleaning the blocks created by the garbage’s in the water flow region.

The newly introduced Cleanliness drive by the CM of the state will make the water reservoirs and tanks that offer drinking water to the entire state to safe level. By doing so, the water borne diseases can be avoided in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
