The rift between the government and the farmers is nothing new in India. The farmers are always complaining that the government is not doing much to develop their sorry state. The latest uprising is in the Madhya Pradesh. To provide relief to the farmers in these trying times, the state government has announced the Krishi Rin Samadhan Yojana. The scheme will lower the credit rates and provide a waiver on the credit as well.

As the agricultural workers started to show their dissatisfaction with the government, a massive unrest broke out. To appease the farmers, the government of the state has announced the implementation of Krishi Rin Samadhan Yojana. The announcement was made in the month of June, 2017. The announcement was made by Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the CM of the state.

Key features for the Krishi Rin Samadhan Yojana in MP

The following are the key features of the new scheme, launched by the state government of Madhya Pradesh:

  1. As per the guidelines of the scheme, the state authority has already set aside a whopping sum of 1000 crores. The sum will be utilized for providing financial relief to the farmers of the state.
  2. The state has also decided to form a MP Agriculture Cost and Marketing Commission. This body will have the responsibility of analyze the market and determine the cost of the agricultural produce.
  3. If the farmers trade under the guidelines of the commission then they will be able to make a better profit. The price that they will get will be much more than the market. The price that the commission will decide will be done after research.
  4. As per the guidelines of the scheme, the program has been implemented from centers, which have already in 22 districts. Onion, Toor and Moong will be collected at these centers by the government authorities at minimum support price. It will be done till the 10th of June, 2017.
  5. Under the program, the farmers will get credit waiver and they will also be provided with loan so that they can pay the bank credits. The loan will be given on a one-time basis and the interest rate will also be very low.

Budget allocated by MP Government

It has been mentioned in the announcement that the Cabinet and the state government has joined hands and allocated a whopping 1000 crores for providing aid to the farmers. They believe that it will be enough to support the needs for the time being.

Latest News about the farmer protest In MP

After the implementation of the scheme, the government is hopeful that the pressure of paying the loan will be taken off of the farmers’ heads. As a certain loan will be provided to the farmers, the money can be used for paying the installment of the loans that they have already taken. Due to the unrest in major cities of the state and police firing, many farmers have lost their lives and also been injured.

The state will provide 1 crore cash to the families who have lost their members and 5 lakhs will be given to those who have been hurt in the strife.

Apart from this, the farmers have also demanded that the price of each liter of milk be raised to Rs. 50. The cause that they have sighted is Rs. 35 is spent on the production of each liter. Due to the unrest in the Mandasur, Ujjain, and Ratlam there has been an upsurge in the prices of milk and vegetables. Last but not the least; the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh has decided to put down their swords but the other groups are not in the mood to budge.
