Haryana Government has approved the Delhi-Rajasthan High Speed Rail Corridor this week (June 2018). This corridor will stretch from Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan to Haryana-Rajasthan border. The average speed is projected to be 100 km/h.
The new railway link project, which is estimated around Rs.25,000 crore, will be developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which is a joint doing between the Government of India, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi. If all goes well, the distance between Jaipur and Delhi could be covered in 90 minutes in the future.
Under this Project
A new high-speed rail link between Uttar-pradesh and Rajasthan, which will pass through delhi and Gurugram. The project, estimating around Rs.25,000 crore, which will be developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), The average speed of the trains will be around 100 kmph. The project will connect Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan to Haryana-Rajasthan border through the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The route of the project, however, has been modified by the Haryana government because of land acquisition issues. As per the original route, 350 hectares of land was required for the project. With the correct route, only 25 hectares of land will complete.
With this project, people can think of completing the journey between the state capital and national capital in less than 2 hours.
The approval for this project was delayed for a long time due to the acquisition of land. But it is now passed with a little modifications.
“Instead of taking NH-8 immediately after entering Gurugram, the route will now run on old Delhi-Gurugram Road near Kapashera border and will meet the highway at Signature Tower Chowk.” Haryana’s principal secretary Anand Mohan Sharan told TOI’s representative.. Further he said “Thereafter, it moves underground beyond Kherki Daula where it would emerge above the ground at IMT Manesar. The alignment would move along the highway up to Dharuhera, Rewari, and Bawal before entering Rajasthan.”
